A challenge I set myself in work and life is to communicate ideas in words anybody can understand. Somebody once called this the ‘granny test’. This doesn’t mean dumbing things down - my grandmothers were sharp as tacks, but they weren’t trained in evaluation and could have felt excluded by the jargon that sometimes enters our work.
